So many factors, both organisational and individual, can influence workplace stress and wellbeing and consequently, the health and wellbeing of all people working in an organisation. If not attended to, concerns can eventually lead to symptoms of burnout. Burnout affects the organization through absenteeism, possible turnover and decreases in quality and quantity of workplace performance. It includes such physical symptoms as fatigue, insomnia, headaches, chest pains and gastrointestinal disturbances.
